Psychodynamic Supervision
for New Therapists
Starting out as a therapist can feel both exhilarating and disorienting. Alongside learning techniques and meeting clinical requirements, you’re also developing yourself as a clinician — your voice, your presence, your capacity to think, feel, and stay curious in the room.
My Approach to Supervision
I offer psychodynamic supervision for pre-licensed and early-career therapists who want a reflective, relational space to grow their clinical confidence and depth.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and exploratory rather than evaluative or prescriptive. We pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship, including transference and countertransference, enactments, attachment patterns, and the emotional life of the therapist. Clinical material is held with care and curiosity, with an emphasis on helping you think psychodynamically while staying grounded and ethically sound.

In Supervision we often explore:
-
The emotional and relational dynamics unfolding between you and your clients
-
How your own history, values, and nervous system shape your clinical work
-
Moments of uncertainty, stuckness, or intensity in sessions
-
Case formulation from a psychodynamic and relational lens
-
Developing tolerance for not-knowing, complexity, and ambiguity
-
Integrating theory with your lived experience in the room
I aim to create a supervisory relationship that is supportive, attuned, and intellectually alive — a place where questions are welcomed, mistakes are understood as part of learning, and your emerging clinical identity can take shape.

Supervision is available for individual therapists and may be appropriate for those seeking a psychodynamic or relational orientation to complement other modalities they are learning.

If you’re looking for supervision that values reflection, depth, and the relational field — and that honors both the responsibility and humanity of being a therapist — I’d be glad to talk with you.
